Product Description
This is the classic Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young tune from 1970. This arrangement is for SAB Chorus, with piano, 2 violins, acoustic guitar, pedal-steel guitar, and bass. The score and parts are on letter-size paper, and it is a playing score, so your chorus will sing from the score. The vocal parts are intermediate level. A high school chorus should have little trouble, and a collegiate or community chorus will be fine. The accompaniment parts are not very difficult; about level 4 or better. The pedal steel part is notated because it was played on the CSNY record by Jerry Garcia, and I have transcribed it for this arrangement. If you don't want or can't get a pedal steel player, the piece will sound fine without it. However, I like using one as it gives the true CSN "color". Also, I have not used a drum kit with the arrangement, so one is not supplied here. I have occasionally used one or two percussionists on cabasa, maraccas, or other hand percussion for a bit of flavor without getting in the way of the singing. The song is a great exercise in 3-part harmony.
The running time is about 4 minutes.
