Product Description

Kirkpatrick was a 19th century carpenter, director, and hymnist from Pennsylvania. Crosby was a 19th century blind teacher, poet, and hymnist from New York. Sections A and C are the verse. Section B and D are the refrain. The work starts out "Dolce" or sweetly. A modulation to a new key occurs towrads the end of section B with the help of a French augmented sixth chord. Section C then introduces a descant by yours truly. "Più gioia" indicates that the new section should be played with more glee.
