Kumbaya is a traditional African American spiritual, originally an appeal to God to come to the aid of those in need. It is popular in the scouting movement.
This version for three part choir is fairly easy, choruses are the same and verses have different flavours and harmonies, for laughing, crying etc.
The structure of the song with its modulations in the intro and outro is inspired by "Morning has Broken" by Cat Stevens and Rick Wakeman. This lifts the song from the ordinary into a musch richer musical experience.
