How Sweet the Sound

An arrangement of the much loved hymn Amazing Grace for Oboe soloist and String Orchestra

The delicate arrangement features a simple presentation of the tune and following a key change the soloist then weaves counterpoint as the cello takes the melody.
Towards the end there are several references to another well known hymn tune Crimond (The Lord's my shepherd) which has also been hinted at in the accompaniment earlier.

An item which will be enjoyed by performers, audiences and congregations alike.

If an oboe soloist is not available the solo part can be effectively played on flute or violin .

Download contains a Full Score plus parts for:

Soloist Oboe (Flute/violin)

Violin 1

Violin 2

Viola

Cello

Bass

Timpani (optional)
