Product Description

"Knock on Wood" is a song by Eddie Floyd and Steve Cropper released as a single by Floyd in 1966. The song was originally written for Otis Redding, but that never came about, and was later covered by other artists, most notably a disco version by Amii Stewart in 1979, which did better in the charts than the original, reaching number one in the US and Canada and top ten around the world. The song was written in the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee (now The National Civil Rights Museum); Steve Cropper has stated in interviews that there was a lightning storm the night that he and Eddie wrote the song, hence the lyrics 'It's like thunder, lightning, The way you love me is frightening'. This arrangement for concert band features short solos for alto sax and trumpet (chords and suggested lines included) and would make a great contribution in a concert celebrating Pride or Black History.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
