Product Description
Klezmer music originated in the "shtetl" (villages) and the ghetto of Eastern Europe, where itinerant Jewish troubadours, known as "klezmorin", had performed at celebrations, particularly weddings, since the early Middle Ages.
"Klezmer" is a Yiddish term combining the Hebrew words "kley" (instrument) and "zemer" (song).
A klezmer Journey uses three traditional tunes:
- Choson kale mazel tov (measure 7) - a wedding dance
- Freylekh (measure 40) - a Jewish circle dance
- Sherele (measure 74) - a German shepherd's dance
This arrangement for
brass quintet (Bb Trumpet 1, Bb Trumpet 2, F Horn, Trombone, Tuba) is suitable for any occasion: classroom, recital, hanukkah, weddings or for a sparkling and rousing encore.
