On March 14, 1975 the world experienced the tragic loss an amazing star. Susan Hayward died at age 57 after a two year battle with cancer. She was an extraordinarily talented actress and is best known for her roles in "I Want to Live," "With a Song in My Heart," "Say Goodbye Maggie Cole," among others. The title is French for "Threnody for a lost star. The work starts off rather somber. The 1st trumpet adds a melody to the harmony. Section B does a slightly fugal bit and then segues. Section C is a return to the origianl theme of section A and arrives to a conclusion.
