Product Description

Sergei Prokofievs Dance of the Knights is no doubt his most popular work still to this day. It is often performed as a stand-alone concert piece, as well as being used in a range of TV programmes and films such as the title music for BBCs The Apprentice, Gods Wonderful Railway and in the film Caligula. The pulsating brass theme has also been hot for sampling on various rap tracks too. A timeless piece, taken from his 1935 ballet Romeo and Juliet, Dance of the Knights, also known as Montagues and Capulets, is one of Sergei Prokofievs most iconic works. The piece is included in Prokofievs second suite of ballet music from Romeo and Juliet - this version. (also available is the longer No 13 from Act 1)

Faithful to the original, this is scored for 3*3*3*3* 4231 Hp Piano/Celeste Timp, Percussion and Strings. However Piccolo, Cor Anglais and Double Bassoon are optional and the Tenor Saxophone 3 bar solo is cued in the lst Bassoon. Horns 3 & 4 are cued in lst and 2nd Trombones. A great concert item lasting about 4-5 mins
