"Let It Be" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, released as a single on March 6, 1970. An alternate mix of the track also served as the title song of their album Let It Be. Written and performed by Paul McCartney, the song is credited to the LennonMcCartney songwriting partnership. The single version, produced by George Martin, features a gentler guitar solo and subdued orchestral elements, while the album version, produced by Phil Spector, includes a more forceful guitar solo and prominent orchestration.

Upon its release, "Let It Be" made a record-setting debut on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 6 and went on to reach number one. It became the Beatles final single before McCartney publicly announced his departure from the band. Both the Let It Be album and the U.S. single "The Long and Winding Road" were released following McCartneys announcement and the official breakup of the group.
