However, the Naïades (river nymphs) come to her rescue and re-graft the reeds from the pan-pipes - tossed away so wantonly by Pan -. The Muses show mercy and the Nymph is spared and revitalised. As she resurrects in spirit form, the celebrate and taunt Pan a little before ascending to the clouds where they reside in eternity and inspire all flute players who need the confidence to play what is in their heart.

A post-modern feel with thematic links back to Debussy's original 1913 style, this composition is a great way to extend the solo repertoire and fill a recital programme with luscious flute sonorites, complimented by ambient electronica.
