Product Description

This arrangement reimagines Muse's elegaic song of loss and lament as a barbershop ballad. The original chorus and bridge/key change lend themselves readily to the harmonic world of contest barbershop and the verses need very little tweaking to complete the adaptation. And the themes of love, yearning and nostalgia are obviously emotional registers well suited to that expressive world.

The lines are not particularly rangy; the main challenge to singers is in sustaining the lines to generate a vocal intensity to match the emotional intensity of the lyrics. The tag is unorthodox, avoiding musical closure to match the lack of emotional closure in the narrative.

Vocal Ranges:
Tenor: G4 - E flat 5
Lead: D4 - C5
Bari: C4 - B flat 4
Bass: E flat 3 - F4

N.B. This arrangement is notated in the clefs for women's barbershop, i.e treble and bass alta (sung an octave higher than written)

The purchase price covers permission to make four copies.
