Born to Armenian parents in 1930 in Harlem, NYC, Souren Baronian displays his musicianship by composing, recording, and performing on the clarinet, soprano sax, duduk, kaval, and percussion. His unique eclectic style spans Middle Eastern, Latin, and Balkan music, while fusing jazz with these genres. On his album, The Middle Eastern Soul, he collaborates with vocalist Bob Tashjian and Haig Manoukian on the oud, among others.
