Five stories by Paula Rego was the first of three commissions by the Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra during my 2017 residency. Inspired by painter Paula Rego and her museum in Cascais, I created a new musical exhibition with promenades and five miniature sound paintings. Each movement reflects the impression a painting left on menot as a literal retelling, but a personal musical translation.
