Product Description

Serenata amalfitana is a refined example of a 19th-century romanza da salotto (salon romance), taken from the renowned collection by Guillaume-Louis Cottrau (1797 - 1847), a French composer and music publisher active in Naples. The son of Julien Cottrau, official music publisher at the court of Joachim Murat, Guillaume became known for publishing numerous Italian romances, often as their author or arranger.
The Serenata amalfitana fits into this sentimental and melodic genre, combining the expressive qualities of Neapolitan songs with the French taste for elegance and intimacy. Likely inspired by the landscapes and mood of the Amalfi Coast, the piece stands out for its tender and poignant melodic line, supported by discreet and harmonious accompaniment.
Arrangement for plectrum ensemble (Solo mandolin /optional voice; mandolines I & II, mandola, mandoloncello, guitar I & II, double bass).

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
