Product Description

Giovanni Matteo Asola (1524-1609) - Quem vidistis pastores a 8

A score by Giovanni Matteo Asola, composer from Verona who studied with Vincenzo Ruffo and, although being surrounded by the "Venetian school" of the time (Zarlino, Willaert, Croce, Gabrieli...) preferred to compose in the "Roman style" of Palestrina.
This transcription is of his "Quem vidistis pastores", for 8 voices (actually 4 + 4 in unison canon after 2 measures) for Christmas day.

Transcription available in modern clefs
