Il simpatico tema del villancico è il seguente: un ragazzino, giovane musicista, va ad adorare il bambinello con quel che ha, cioè il tempo che dedica allo studio della musica, pensando con questo di far felice il bambinello e allo stesso tempo di chiedere a Gesù, Giuseppe e Maria la grazia di... aiutarlo con i compiti, visto che capire concetti come maxima, longa, breve, pausa, corona, tempo ternario, ecc... non è facile.
