This is a rich and powerful setting of a familiar nativity story: the kings bringing their gifts to the infant Jesus. The main theme is in 5/4 time (which is easier to read than some singers might imagine) and an extended middle section is in 3/2 and later 3/4. Although the piece is tonal, theres some chromatic writing, making this setting appropriate for more experienced singers. The SAB (soprano-alto-baritone) voicing makes this arrangement suitable for high school, church, community or college choirs that have no tenor singers. There are no divisi sections. Voice ranges are as follows: Soprano D4-G5; Alto B3-D5; Baritone A flat 2 - D4.

The piano part is of moderate difficulty but could be handled by any competent pianist. The anthem would make an excellent addition to any Christmas concert, Christmas service or Nativity event. This anthem is also available in SATB format. (Duration 03:50)
