Product Description

This contest / concert march for brass band is named for the hill leading out of Pangbourne (Berkshire), towards Streatley. During the English Civil War an artillery station was sited in Pangbourne to guard the Thames Crossing.

This lively march begins with bold chromatic runs with B instruments in the key of C minor. There follows a section of counterpoint between solo cornet and euphonium, a quiet link to the bass melody. A bright fanfare introduces the Trio in the relative major key. Flugel and solo horn play a simple melody over a technical euphonium solo. The D.C. reprises the original minor themes.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
