Product Description

Folk songs are traditional songs that have been passed down among the general public. They reflect the culture, customs, and emotions of each region and have diverse contents and rhythms. "Monggeumpo Taryeong" is a traditional Korean folk song that has been passed down from the Hwanghae region. "Monggeumpo" is a port, and the beach by the sea here is famous for its white sand, lush forests, and azaleas. The content of this folk song consists of sad melodies and lyrics, and contains the joys and sorrows of fishermen's lives and the longing heart of waiting for the safe return of a loved one who has gone out to catch fish. This music is composed in the form of A-B-Cadenza-A, with the sad part in the middle of the music, and the beginning and end parts composed in a cheerful mood. It is usually played to the rhythm of the traditional Korean "jungmori" rhythm, which is also quoted throughout the music. It is also called "Jangsangot Taryeong."
