Product Description

A beautiful sacred hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann W. Snowball. The hymn "Holy Communion (Wednesday of Holy Week)" is a contemplative meditation on Christ's final days, inviting believers to reflect on their own spiritual practices in times of suffering. It poses introspective questions about seeking strength and communion with God during pain, paralleling the anguish Jesus faced as He prepared for His crucifixion. The verses ponder where Jesus might have found solacewhether in solitude or among loved onesand emphasize His deep connection with the Father. Culminating in the affirmation of Holy Communion as a divine gift imbued with God's love, the hymn aligns with the solemnity of Holy Week, encouraging personal reflection and spiritual communion.

Text:
Holy Communion (Wednesday of Holy Week)
How do you pray when pain comes your way,
When you need strength and support for the day?
Do you commune in ways seldom used,
Asking for power and faith to get through?

Where would you go if you had been there
On those last days when Christ had to prepare,
Knowing youd die when feeling great pain,
Giving a gift for mankind to obtain?

Did Jesus roam in mountains above
On that day viewing the village He loved?
Would He have been with people who cared,
Learning from Father of sacrifice there?

We do not know where Christ was that day,
But we suspect He looked up as He prayed.
And with His Father He must have felt
Holy communion with Him as He knelt.

Holy communion, His gift from above.
Holy communion with all of Gods love.
