Valsa (da revista Amapá) is a Brazilian waltz composed by Chiquinha Gonzaga for the theatrical revue Amapá, a four-act, 19-scene production by Moreira de Vasconcelos. Premiered at Teatro Santana in November 1896, the piece was likely published the following year by Buschmann e Guimarães. Dedicated to Gonzagas daughters-in-law, Ritoca and Candinha, this waltz exemplifies her innovative fusion of European musical forms with Brazilian rhythms, contributing significantly to the evolution of Brazilian popular music. chiquinhagonzaga.com
