Product Description

An arrangement for mixed reed quartet (oboe d'amore, basset horn, tenor saxophone, bass clarinet) of a fugue by German-born composer and organist Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706). Although best known today for his Canon in D, Pachelbel was a prolific composer of sacred and secular music and was influential in the development of the choral prelude and fugue forms. This piece is one of the many "Magnificat" fugues that he composed for organ during his final years in Nuremberg and is typical of his uncomplicated style. The set comprises full score and parts, including alternative parts for oboe instead of oboe d'amore, alto clarinet instead of basset horn and bassoon instead of bass clarinet. Difficulty level : Intermediate/Advanced.
