Product Description

Largely forgotten, Jérôme Paul Bonaventure Alday, or simply Paul Alday (c.1763 1835), was a French violinist, composer and music publisher who spent most of his active career in Dublin, Ireland. While his works are mostly inaccessible due to loss or lack of publishing, the manuscript for his Potpourri, inked Potpouri: Par Alday: Valse, for String Trio was luckily preserved in the Baden State Library (Badische Landesbibliothek) in Karlsruhe, Germany.

A beautiful classical trio suitable for intermediate to advance level, where interestingly, the different sections of the music are often connected with cadenzas for the violinist. Removing the cadenzas does not affect the musical integrity of the work as a whole, and hence its presence can be left to the violinist's discretion.
