The piece Dreikraft was composed in 2019 for my nephew Samuel Innerwinkler. My creative approach to this composition is twofold: on the one hand, it musically portrays the metamorphosis from childhood to adolescence, charged with overwhelming physical energy; on the other hand, it reflects the growing challenges faced by young performers in the form of technical and musical demands. This piece utilizes the full range of the keyboard to playfully depict physical movement, while the strictly organized and spatially condensed use of hands and fingers captures the inner struggle of a young person coming of age.
