Product Description

Václav Vackár recieved his musical education through a military program in Przemysl, today in Poland, at that time a part of the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy. After his time with military bands he played in and conducted various orchestras. In 1913 he became a member of the Czech Philharmonic. He composed around 300 works and is still today famous in Middle Europe for some of his marches. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the version for symphony orchestra and was written and first time performed in November 2001 by the municipal band of Zirl, Austria conducted by Albert Schwarzmann and performed and recorded on 6 January 2004 by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Austria.
