Product Description
"Take on Me" is an upbeat hit from 1984 by Swedish synth-pop group a-ha. This arrangement makes it accessible for your middle school band, with two performance options. You can perform the full three and a half minute version for a concert, or take an optional indicated cut to make it the perfect length for your pep band or marching band. Because this tune is so familiar, it is a great piece to help your students master syncopated rhythms with ease.
Parts included: Score, Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet 1, Clarinet 2, Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Bari Sax, Trumpet 1, Trumpet 2, Horn in F, Trombone, Baritone BC, Baritone TC, Tuba, Mallets, Percussion/opt. Drum Set (Snare, Bass, Hi-Hat), Quad Toms. The percussion part comes in two versions--completely written out (3 pages) and including single and double measure repeats (2 pages).
Matthew Veenstra has been teaching middle school bands for the past 30 years in Michigan and California. His arrangements include a series of warmups for bands, multi-level compositions used as closing numbers at 5th-12th grade combined concerts, and various pop and rock arrangements.
