Product Description

The Parting Glass is a Scottish traditional song, also long sung in Ireland. The parting glass was the stirrup-cup, the final hospitality offered to a departing guest.
The song was first published in 1654, though there's evidence that it was sung well before that.
It's a melody that really flows, so make the most of all the flowing quavers, in all parts. Snatch a breath when you can!
There's a great soprano solo in the final verse, full of poignancy, and sadness at the parting.
I arranged The Parting Glass for my dear friend Liz Yeowell, who memorably sang that solo.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
