Product Description

Fanny Hensel (1805-1847) composed these two selections, originally for piano alone, during the final year of her life, her prolific annus mirabilis. The Mélodie H. 420 has also been catalogued as Op. 4, No. 2, part of a set of short pieces. The Klavierstück H. 459 is a stand-alone work. This arrangement includes only the stylistic markings, expression text, dynamics, etc. from the ursatz editions in the public domain. Other elements of musicality are left up to the performers. This arrangement makes beautiful writing by an important historical woman composer in Hensel accessible to the intermediate clarinetist. It is preferred that these selections be played on Clarinet in A for ease of key signature; however, an instrument part for Clarinet in B-flat is included if necessary.
