This arrangement of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" provides a faithful recreation of the original recording's sound, while giving the orchestral players moments to shine through intuitive adaptations of some of the signature guitar & keyboard parts. It is in the original recorded key of E major and can be performed with either a single vocal soloist or with full chorus (single-staff reduction included).
This arrangement, notably, can be performed without electric guitar, but for ensembles wishing to include guitar, synth, or any other additional instruments I have included a lead sheet with chords that can be used for this purpose.
Don't settle for a lazy transcription when you can blow the roof off the auditorium with a professional Nashville arranger (and seasoned veteran of several of the aforementioned bar bands)'s take on this timeless tune. Get ready to rock with this one!
Instrumentation - Solo voice, Chorus (optional), 2 Fr. Horn (F), 3 Trpt. (Bb), 2 Tbn., 1 Bass Tbn., Tuba, Mark Tree, Drum Set, Strings.
Difficulty level - Intended for professional ensembles but could be handled by a high-level college or high school group with some rehearsal time. Due to the key, some of the brass parts are very high and might need to be taken down an octave for younger players.
Performance time - Approximately 4:40. Optional vamp on the outro if you need to get 5 minutes out of it.
