Product Description

The POLKA from the opera "The Bartered Bride" premiered on 30 May 1866 in Prague. It is often played together in concert programs with two other dances out of the opera, FURIANT and SKOČNÁ, also known as "Dance of the Comedians". Also these dances have been arranged and published by Albert Schwarzmann. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their "New Year's Concert" on 6 January 2011 at the "Grosses Festspielhaus" (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria. A live recording of this concert is available at https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/de/kristalle-der-musik/ or https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/kristalle-der-musik/hnum/10428743?iampartner=303&subid=umr50&ref=partner.jpc.de .
