As I mentioned before the concept for this was more of a Fantasia on 'Over the Rainbow,' so prepare to be swept away by soaring string melodies that will transport you from the Land of Oz into a whole 'nother dimension of cinema. Your audience will know from the first 10 seconds that they are not in Kansas anymore, Toto.
4. COMPATIBLE WITH VARIOUS SOLOIST OPTIONS
While originally written for a female vocal solo, the solo part would also sound great performed by a cello or violin (take the last bit up 8va if you're feeling it) or even a wind/brass soloist as long as they're comfortable reading in concert pitch.
As a violinist myself, I had a lot of fun with this one and I think you'll agree that for a song that gets programmed on a LOT of concerts, there hasn't been a version done quite like this one before.
Difficulty level - Sight-readable for most professional orchestras as long as the soloist doesn't get lost. Doable on a couple rehearsals for a high school or college ensemble.
