Product Description

Out of the 1,000+ arrangements of this absolutely legendary tune that you will find for sale on this site, there are a couple specific reasons why this one might be just the ticket for your ensemble:

1. IT IS IN THE KEY OF C
That's right, if you're working with a vocal soloist who happens not to have the exact register of Judy Garland and may not be comfortable with those low F's, you'll find this arrangement to be in a bit more standard range for female singers. That range, specifically, is A3 to F5... in case you were wondering.

2. IT IS MORE THAN 2 MINUTES LONG
Thanks to a fantasia-esque orchestra introduction and a nice little instrumental diversion after the first bridge, this arrangement rings in at about 4 and a half minutes. For the same price as all those 2 min versions, why not bring home a little bit more to love?

3. EPIC ORCHESTRATIONS
If you want a transcription of the original Wizard of Oz arrangement of this tune, smash that back button right now because this isn't for you. IF, however, you have ever dared to ask yourself the question "what would the music from a Studio Ghibli Wizard of Oz sound like?" then boy do I have just the chart you need!! As I mentioned before the concept for this was more of a Fantasia on 'Over the Rainbow,' so prepare to be swept away by soaring string melodies that will transport you from the Land of Oz into a whole 'nother dimension of cinema. Your audience will know from the first 10 seconds that they are not in Kansas anymore, Toto.

4. COMPATIBLE WITH VARIOUS SOLOIST OPTIONS
While originally written for a female vocal solo, the solo part would also sound great performed by a cello or violin (take the last bit up 8va if you're feeling it) or even a wind/brass soloist as long as they're comfortable reading in concert pitch.

As a violinist myself, I had a lot of fun with this one and I think you'll agree that for a song that gets programmed on a LOT of concerts, there hasn't been a version done quite like this one before.

Difficulty level - Sight-readable for most professional orchestras as long as the soloist doesn't get lost. Doable on a couple rehearsals for a high school or college ensemble.

Performance time - about 4:30
