Severance is an American science fiction psychological thriller television series. Theodore Shapiro's main theme was nominated for Primetime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music" in 2022. The series received 14 nominations at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards and Creative Arts Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series; it won for Main Title Design and musical score. Shaprio commented that when it comes to this theme, "a few notes on the piano" can be "scarier than a 90-piece orchestra."

The theme's chord progression - C minor, G flat major, F major, A flat minor - is heard throughout the tune and presents an opportunity for active listening. This piece serves as a great concert opener or pop tune.
