I offer an arrangement for solo fingerstyle guitar of the Scottish folk melody Bunessan made internationally popular by Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islams) rendition of the hymn Morning Has Broken by Eleanor Farjeon. The arrangement is basically a series of broken chords played in arpeggio style by the right hand with the melody woven into the chords. The melody is played repeatedly through a number of key changes, much as the hymn would have the melody repeated through the singing of the different verses of the song.

The arrangement is a good instructional piece for fingerstyle guitarists at the intermediate level and a good introduction to the art of modulation between keys. It is also a restful and relaxing piece to play and listen to.
