Product Description
No stranger to dance/stage bands, Abe "Glenn" Osser composed many simple yet elegant instrumental works in various styles, including this TANGO, which he later orchestrated for Concert Band.
Osser's career included working as a staff arranger for the National Broadcasting Company and with notables such as Les Brown, Vincent Lopez, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Paul Whiteman, Patti Page, and Frank Sinatra.
When the New York Mets signed onto the National League of Baseball in the early 1960s, Glenn's recording of Meet the Mets greeted everyone on the field. It's still played today at Mets home games and on the radio.
This setting for a British-style Brass Band quintet, with an optional drum kit, allows everyone other than the tango bass line to have an opportunity to take the lead.
Alternate parts for Horn in F, Trombone BC, and Tuba are included.
