Product Description
The title of the work similarly refers to the vicissitudes that any man will go through during his life, old age as the culmination of a story and childhood as the beginning of a new path. The first movement, titled My Grandmother's Braids, is a synthesis of the dizzying vision of experiential chaos, the playful way of living, always with the energy of enjoying the moment. The second movement, My Grandfather's Mustaches, reflects the patience and wisdom of the elderly, the nostalgia that the memories of what has been experienced repeatedly circulate through the mind of a man in the twilight of his life.
Finally, the third movement, And stop that mule, is the new impetus to travel a
path known to the old but unknown to the new generations. This work combines minimalist, neotonal elements with melodies that recall the traditional sounds of Mexico.
That is why On That Cobbled Path recreates and combines the sounds of traditional Mexican music with the minimalism and techniques of contemporary academic music, achieving a rapprochement between the Son of the small-town musicians of Mexico with the enchantment of contemporary music. My grandmother's braids, with those dizzying spirals that are recreated at every step of existence, that eternal fight for life until death. My grandfather's mustaches, so calm in any situation, so wise in the face of any enigma, so nostalgic in the face of his history. And the mule that doesn't stop, the impetuous child eager to live, to dream, to believe, to die.
