From the moment Hold My Hand" was released in March 2015, it was an instant dance floor and party hit. Released as the 3rd solo single from English singer-songwriter Jess Glynne, Hold My Hand debuted at No.1 in the UK Singles Chart, where it stayed for 3 consecutive weeks, and was quickly followed by more No.1s across the globe. The song reached a truly global audience when it was used in advertising campaigns by Coca-Cola and famously by Jet2, as well as being featured on the soundtrack for the 2016 film Bridget Joness Baby, starring Renee Zellweger. Featuring an instantly recognisable introduction, as well as a memorably melodic chorus and Glynnes iconic vocal style, Hold My Hand achieved cult status as a feel good classic.
In this newly available arrangement, Matt Shaw brings all the bright, feel good vibe of Glynnes original song and transports it effortlessly into the brass band medium. With features throughout for flugelhorn, horns and percussion, this arrangement promises to be a favourite for both your audiences and performers. The opening rhythmic hook is performed by horns and vibraphone, with accompanying trombones and baritones, before the first verse is led by flugelhorn solo, joined later by solo cornets, with the iconic backing vocal interjections being taken by repiano and soprano cornets. The flugelhorn again takes the lead in the 8 bar bridge, building towards the chorus, where the full band are unleashed! Euphonium and cornets take the melody in the second verse, with horns and flugelhorn leading for the following bridge, and cornets holding the tune in harmony for the second verse. The texture thins for a second, longer bridge, with the melody moving to solo euphonium, accompanied by soloists in the baritone and repiano, before building the band back up into the final lively chorus.

This arrangement has already proven to be a hit on concert programmes, and we are thrilled to now be able to make it available to you. Hold My Hand is ideal for any concert or contest performance, but is especially suited to Pops programmes, Entertainment programmes and Summer concerts. Dedicated to Natalie, the arrangers wife, this arrangement was originally put together as a gift for her to play, and is ideally suited to bands playing at a 3rd Section level upwards.
