Product Description

This is an intermediate jazz piano arrangement of 'Eleanor Rigby' by Lennon & McCartney.
'Eleanor Rigby' is a song first recorded by the Beatles on their 1966 album Revolver. The writing credits were shared equally between John Lennon and Paul McCartney as was usual for the band.
Although Lennon and McCartney provide vocals, none of the Beatles actually play an instrument on the original recording. The instrumental backing was provided by a string octet arranged by their producer George Martin.
The lyrics are all about the theme of loneliness and this piece of music clearly shows a more artistic side of the Beatles' songwriting that they weren't originally known for.
It was written around the chords of E minor and C major, while this jazz arrangement takes the original chords into brand new harmonic territory.
Structurally, it can be thought of as having a refrain: "Ah, Look at all the lonely people...", a verse "Eleanor Rigby, picks up the rice in a church where a wedding has been..." and a chorus "All the lonely people, where do they all come from?". I have noted these sections with rehearsal marks.
