Product Description
Inspired by Mary J. Blige's jazzy big-band cover of this timeless Christmas tune, this arrangement of "Rudolph" has been reimagined for a symphony orchestra, rhythm section, and vocal soloist. A great choice for orchestras wanting to add a jazz/fusion flair to their holiday program without needing to bring in additional reed players.
Features a written trumpet & trombone solo, trading with the vocals in the style of Mary J's version. Original solos can be improvised if preferred. In addition to the orchestral parts a drum set part & "rhythm section" lead sheet have been included, which can be used to incorporate keyboards, guitar, or other jazz elements if desired. The chart is however still completely playable using only the notated parts.
Instrumentation - Vocal solo, 2 Fr. Horn (F), 2 Trpt. (Bb), 3 Tbn, Tuba, Strings, Double Bass (solo), Drum Set
Difficulty level - Professional. Symphonic players without jazz/big band experience will definitely want to take a look at this chart before showing up to rehearsal.
Performance time - Approximately 2:30
