Product Description

A Rivendell String Quartet Arrangement - The Pop Standards Series

Perhaps the greatest "torch song" ever, The Man Who Got Away was written for the 1954 version of A Star Is Born. The song, with music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by Ira Gershwin, is sung in the film by Judy Garland, and is considered by many to be her greatest film performance.

Interestingly, in addition to The Man That Got Away, composer Harold Arlen wrote two of Garland's other "signature songs:" Over The Rainbow (The Wizard of Oz, 1939), and Get Happy (Summer Stock, 1950).

This ballad is a must-have for any string quartet!
