Product Description
This beautiful piece comes from one of most colourful, prolific, and well known guitar performers and composers of the early twentieth century, Agustin Barrios Mangoré. His beautiful, lyrical, adict-worthy works have delighted generations of guitarists and continue to do so.
Following a flexible rondo form, this Vals begins as the quintessential waltz where Victorian-era dancers can be imagined - beribboned, flounced and corsetted - before B and C sections, exquisite, well-bred and perfectly dressed, insert themselves in turn with the utmost courtesy. The final reprise ends with a flourish as the dancers raise their hands and bow.
This waltz was written by Barrios as the second of a group of four waltzes contained under the opus 8 classification. One of only three of Barrios' works which carry an opus number, opus 8, with its four waltzes, is one of his most popular works. Opus 8 was first published in 1952, but is believed to have been composed on or before 1923.
Complete, with full performance directions and guitar tablature, makes this arrangment as accessible as possible.
All four waltzes are available under my arrangements.
