Product Description
Take a wonderful musical journey to Agrabah with Michael J. Glasgow's handbell arrangement of Arabian Nights, the catchy opening tune from the Walt Disney films and stage show Aladdin.
Scored for 5, 6 or 7 octaves of handbells (with an optional B1!) and 3 octaves of handchimes, the arrangement begins in A minor and ends in B minor, and captures spirited elements from the original animated film, the 2019 live-action movie,* and the stage production. Choreography notes are included to make quick work of tricky chromatic passages.
The piece works great with ringers alone, but grab a bass player and at least a couple of percussionists and you'll make a real entrance! New Domain Music's NDM-0006I contains a full score, plus parts for Bass, Congas, and one or more auxiliary percussionists playing Finger Cymbals, Mark Tree, Bell Tree, Tambourine, Gong, Suspended Cymbal and Slapstick! Search for "Glasgow" and the title of the piece to find the companion products.
*If you want to add more Aladdin to your handbell program, Glasgow's arrangement of Speechless (Princess Jasmine's powerballad written for the 2019 live-action film) can be performed immediately after this arrangement of Arabian Nights: the keys work together beautifully! Speechless is published by Jeffers Handbell Supply (JHS9589), and can be found at handbellworld.com or from your favorite handbell-music dealer.
