Product Description

Stürmisch in Lieb' und Tanz (Stormy in Love and Dance) was composed based on motifs from the operetta Das Spitzentuch der Königin (The Queen's Lace Towel). In compiling the polka Johann Strauss used parts from the third act and the finale of the first act of the operetta. It premiered on 22 February 1881 in Sofienbad Hall in Vienna. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their "Three Kings' Concert" on 6 January 2013 at the "Grosses Festspielhaus" (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria, and broadcasted live by Austrian television. A live recording of this concert is available at https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/de/la-chasse-die-jagd/ or https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/la-chasse-die-jagd-paris-wien/hnum/10428714?iampartner=303&subid=umr62&ref=partner.jpc.de .
