Product Description
Here is another favourite violin concerto of mine - Vivaldi's Op. 3 No. 3, RV 310 in G Major, here arranged for String Quartet. This is another of the Vivaldi's Op. 3 "L'estro Armonico" (The Harmonic Inspiration/Fancy).
The first movement, Allegro, is the most well known, and it has featured on the ABRSM Grade 5 syllabus a number of times. The rest of the concerto is equally sunny and sparkling, with a short, slow movement, and the third movement has a fabulous cello part, full of semiquavers.
The 1st violin (solo) part hasn't been touched, so you can use your own part if you prefer: the changes are in the other three parts.
This arrangement is perfect for either:
a chamber music concert, where you'd like something Baroque and not crazy difficult,
for a nice addition to any quartet pad for events,
or
for a grade 5+ student quartet, where the 1st violinist has learned the first movement and would like the opportunity to have a go at the whole concerto, but doesn't have the opportunity to play it with orchestra.
