Two verses are text-painted with a short interlude between them, with the violin playing the traditional solo in eighths and sustained notes. The piano compliments the soloist with a few measures of sixteenth notes to build to a cascading climax.

Through the interplay of the soloist and the piano, the arrangement beautifully captures the awe and wonder of the nativity. Quiet moments and ethereal chords crystallize the warm setting as the piece steadily progresses to 'preach' its pinnacle message: "Jesus, LORD at thy birth!" It ends very gently with room for reflection.
