Product Description

Adapted from the first movement of a violin concerto by Antonio Vivaldi (Concerto in G minor, Op. 12, No. 1), Allegro Moderato provides the young trumpet soloist with an opportunity to experience playing authentic music from the Baroque era by one of the master composers of that time. Originally with a tempo marking of Allegro, this tempo marking has been revised down to Allegro Moderato as many, if not most, professional performers of this work perform it at this more restrained tempo. With a top note of only 5th line F (optional A is also provided), this adaptation is well within the range of most young trumpet players while still providing several 16th note passages characteristic of Vivaldis writing. A mature and impressive solo for the intermediate trumpet soloist! This solo is also included in the collection, Artistic Solos for Trumpet, by Kenneth Baird.
