This arrangement of Silent Night is an excellent solo for the advancing intermediate double bassist. It is written in the key of G Major and includes the theme and one variation. The solo can be played in thumb position, corresponding with the George Vance Vol. 2 method, and is written using both treble and bass clefs. The piano accompaniment is a true accompaniment and does not double the melody. It is carefully written to avoid clashing with the bass part. Thoughtful bowings and dynamics have been included throughout. This is perfect for any holiday program!
