This beautiful slow movement by Vivaldi comes from his Concerto For Diverse Instruments (RV558), written around 1740. It provides a lyrical interlude between two totally rocking outer movements featuring some rather crazy sounding solo instruments. This movement strongly features the mandolin section of the soloists. I have seen it published as a mandolin concerto, and this arrangement would work well even as a solo mandolin piece.
