Product Description

Silent Night is probably the most popular Christmas carol of all time. The text was written in 1816 by Joseph Mohr, and the music was composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber. John Freeman Young translated the text from German to English in 1859.

This arrangement is for four-part a cappella Mens Chorus (TTBB) with the melody primarily in the Tenor 1 part. First verse: original two-part version with tonic and dominant pedal tones. Second verse: traditional harmony. Third verse: reharmonized. Key of E-flat Major.
