After a short, misleadingly calm introduction the main bariolage-theme sets off and is later repeated several times in between recapitulations of all the previous movements' themes, who are continuously being pushed towards an exuberant climax, before the final piano-chords are literally smashing down any potential leftover demonic forces.

A piece that not only in its technical demand but also in its relentlessly maintained drive pushes the boundaries of conventional listening.
