The Paso doble El gato Montés (The Wild Cat) comes from the opera of the same name by Manuel Penella Moreno, who also wrote the Spanish language libretto. It premiered on 23 February 1916 at the Teatro Pricipal in Valencia and was also produced in English in New York's Park Theatre in 1921 with Penella conducting.
